Privacy Policy

What information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: very little, only to respond to you and manage your license, and we never sell it.

Who We Are

This website (plainviewtimeline.com) and the Plain View software are provided by Kilian Investigative Solutions LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean Kilian Investigative Solutions LLC.

This Website

  • We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or social-media widgets on this site.
  • The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the page and protect the site against attacks. We don't use that information to identify or track visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

When You Contact Us

When you submit the request form, what you enter is delivered to our support inbox through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service that turns the form into an email to us. See Web3Forms' privacy policy. If the form can't be sent, it offers to open the request in your own email program instead. Either way, we receive what you choose to include. That's usually your name, title, agency, unit, email address, phone number, and message.

We use that information only to answer your request, prepare quotes, agreements, and invoices, and follow up about Plain View. We don't add you to marketing lists without asking.

Please don't send case information or evidence through the form or by email.

License Holders

To issue and support a license, we keep a record of:

  • the licensed user's name, agency, unit, and contact email;
  • the license number, type, start and end dates, and version;
  • activation records, including the install codes you send us (a one-way hardware fingerprint that contains no personal or case information; see Security & Data Handling);
  • purchasing records such as quotes, signed agreements, purchase orders, and invoices.

The licensed user's name, agency, and license number are built into their copy of Plain View and appear on its screens, reports, and exports. This identifies who the copy belongs to and discourages unauthorized sharing.

The Software

Plain View runs entirely on the investigator's computer and doesn't send us any information. We never receive warrant returns, case data, tags, notes, reports, or usage information from the program. All of that stays on your agency's computers and under your agency's control. See Security & Data Handling for details.

Sharing

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only:

  • with service providers that help us run the business, such as our email, form-delivery, website hosting, payment, and accounting providers, and only as needed for those services;
  • when required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order;
  • with a successor if the business or the Plain View product is sold, under the same protections described here.

Retention & Security

We keep inquiry emails as long as needed to respond and follow up. We keep license, activation, and purchasing records for as long as a license is active, and afterward as long as needed for support, renewals, and our tax and business records. We protect these records with reasonable safeguards, including password-protected accounts with two-step verification.

Your Choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we aren't required to keep. Email support@plainviewtimeline.com.

Changes To This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date below. If a change significantly affects current license holders, we'll also let them know by email.
